Christopher was inspired to work as a building surveyor as he has always been interested in construction, spending much time on site as a teenager. He says: “It’s all about variety, and building surveying gives you that in spades.”
That fascination led to a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Nottingham Trent University and qualification as a chartered surveyor in 2006.
Before joining Propitas, Christopher worked for GVA for seven years in its London West End and Birmingham offices. Following his move to Birmingham in 2008, Christopher went on to become an integral member of the team, taking lead roles in significant portfolio instructions, heading up technical due diligence teams on acquisitions in the UK and Europe, and providing detailed dilapidations advice, all on behalf of local authorities, banks, multi-office occupiers and property companies.
Christopher sees Propitas as a consultancy that can give a wide range of building surveying and project management services to all types of clients: “We all have exceptional knowledge in all core areas of building surveying, having worked in senior positions in a variety of practices and on behalf of some of the biggest household names you can think of. We make it our job to not only know how our clients’ businesses work but to also know them.”
Asked about his favourite Propitas project to date, Christopher reports there are “Too many to think of. I really enjoy the variety of the profession and the fact that the relationship we have with our clients means we are often involved from acquisition to disposal of an asset.”
Christopher predicts a strong future for Propitas as “A well respected consultancy that continues to grow but at a pace that allows everyone to have a good work life balance, knowing we can all rest easy following a job well done. We have a great range of loyal clients who we believe really value our dedication and attention to detail, and it is that ethic that is at the forefront of every instruction we carry out.”
