Propitas were appointed as Project Manager and Contract Administrator, with Project 1201 as Cost Consultant. The Design Team included Bennett Williams for MEP, GW Consulting Engineers as Structural Engineers and Bal Architecture in a Design Guardian role. Planning Consultancy advice was provided by This Planning.

The works included the phased refurbishment of the existing student bedrooms and communal areas and the creation of eight new studio flats by converting part of the on-site reception and amenity blocks. Security was modernised with new CCTV and access control systems. Another key part of the scheme was the new indoor / outdoor communal space, which included the creation of a ‘box park’ communal area using re-purposed shipping containers.

Sustainability was an important consideration for the client and improvements were integrated within the project including installing PV systems to the roofs, PIR controlled LED lighting and intelligent heating controls.
